Would someone explain how the Solheim points are distributed at a LPGA tournament? e.g. If 3 players finish in tie for third place, do all the players get 28.5 points, or do they split the aggregate for the third, fourth, and fifth place points e.g. prize money. What happen if only 1 American player finish in a tie for third, would she take all the points like a professional would be entitled if an amateur won.

Here is the link to Solheim points, scroll down the page to: "2017 USA Solheim Cup Team Points Distribution"
Each "USA" player that finishes third place would get 28.5 points. This point system is for "USA" Solheim players not European players. www.solheimcupusa.com/team-usa/how-to-qualifyteeshot.....

Note ... from Randall Mell's article June 20, 2017 ~ "Wie Making Big Solheim Cup Push"
It’s also notable that Wie climbed to No. 33 in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings this week, moving up 15 spots. She started the year ranked No. 174 in the world.
This rankings climb matters in the U.S. Solheim Cup competition, because at No. 33 in the world, Wie is also in position to qualify for the team via a second pathway.
If Wie wasn’t among the top eight Americans in points this week, she would rank first on the U.S. Solheim Cup World Rankings list. The top two Americans in the world rankings who aren’t already qualified for the U.S. team on the final points list will qualify off the rankings list.

Whan, Inkster aiming for a raucous Solheim Cup
By Randall Mell June 20, 2017, 1:51 pm LPGA commissioner Mike Whan led what amounted to a homecoming pep rally during Solheim Cup media day Monday in Des Moines, Iowa. He told Iowans the festive nature of the international biennial women’s team event will be unlike any golf competition the state has ever hosted, including the last major it hosted, the U.S. Senior Open in 1999. “No offense to the USGA and no offense to men over 50, but this ain’t no Senior Open we are bringing here,” Whan said. “I’m sure that was fun, but I promise you this won’t feel like that.” Whan said he has actually lost his voice screaming support to players watching Solheim Cups. “This is an event where the 'quiet please’ signs go away,” Whan said. “We don’t want that. You’ll be quiet for a couple seconds and then start screaming again. This is a football game that met a soccer match that met MMA.” Link to the article: www.golfchannel.com/news/golf-central-blog/whan-inkster-aiming-raucous-solheim-cup

IT'S CRUNCH TIME TO MAKE THE U.S. SOLHEIM CUP TEAM
12 JUL 2017 Topic: SOLHEIM-CUP US-WOMENS-OPEN RON SIRAK "BEDMINSTER, N.J. – The game within the game this week at the U.S. Women’s Open is the intense scramble for spots on the American Solheim Cup team. Double points are at stake at Trump National and with only three other events left to qualify, this tournament is huge." "At least 17 players are in the mix for the 10 automatic positions; eight will qualify off the Solheim Cup points list and two will earn a spot off the Rolex Ranking. Captain Juli Inkster will also have two wild card selections to fill out the 12-player squad." " "Going into the Women’s Open, Lexi Thompson, Stacy Lewis, Gerina Piller and Cristie Kerr – the top four on the points list – are most likely safe and the next two, Jessica Korda and Danielle Kang, are probably safe. Michelle Wie and Brittany Lang are in a tie for the final two automatic spots." Link to article: www.lpga.com/news/2017-a-game-inside-the-game-at-us-womens-open
