Apparently she missed the green on 8, only one putt! Mixed bag, but maybe a one putt will get her confidence up!

What is up with Michelle why is she struggling so much. It was like WHAM! and Michelle lost her skills. I hope something good happens for her tomorrow just something to leave a good taste in mouth., show she's turning the corner.

My worst fear is now confirmed. The early results were perhaps explainable by the fact she was graduating from Stanford.
Then, Kraft, where she knows the place like the back of her hand, a home not far away, a record of success. Epic fail.
Now this, another cut about to be missed at home, in Hawaii.
I expect incoming fire on this, but the facts are what they are.
Leadbetter: SHOULD BE FIRED Parents: OUT OF THE WAY Michelle: APOLOGIZE TO THOSE SHE HAS UPSET, FIND HELP...Butch, Haney, Pelz, ANYONE!!!
Her game is toast. There is basically NOTHING working. I beyond upset and frustrated by this.
She is headed toward Natalie status - celebrity golfer, not a factor or someone who strikes fear into her fellow competitors. She used to be INTIMIDATING. Now, she is coming to be known for her commercials, not her golf. The utter stubborness of her "team" is horrible.
I happily would like to engage with my fellow fans here in discussion about what should happen, but to suggest she is "close" is like saying the US has no debt. Facts are facts.
I am so bummed by this, I was all jacked up to watch TGC this weekend.

You are spot on! Although, one thing I don't understand -- why you wrote "I expect incoming fire on this"? I am sure every resonable person would agree with you assessment? No?

If the cut is +2, she needs to go no worse than 67 just to make the cut. Tall order for her state of play. Michelle is losing it fast! maybe she lost the drive already awhile back but we just did not want to see it. :-(

Hi ya folks....first of all...bobawiefan, TERRIFFIC JOB by you...go bobawiefan go!!!
folks...here is my personal opinion....granted that Wiesy's Putting is SHAKEY and very unpredictable h....but her tee to green game is still pretty darn good...a few miss hits but this happens to everyone during the course of a round that has windy conditions....Wiesy may not be meeting everyone's expectations, because of all of the past achievements...BUT folks, Wiesy Golf is NOT OVER...it is NOT an early retirement....Wiesy still plays a great game of golf....exciting, adventuresome, blood pressure crazy at times...but like Wiesy says...it is still a "Work in Progress"....
here is my personal opinion...sooner or later, her putting confidence will return...and until that day comes...I for one am NOT GIVING UP ON THE KID....Wiesy is too talented to not figure a way out of this slump in putting....once she starts to figure out her putting problems...WATCH OUT...the kid is going to be a KILLER...
here is what I like BEST about Wiesy golf...the Kid is AGGRESSIVE and always on the attack....perhaps this is why she has "Roller Coaster" rounds....this aggressive nature tells me that the Kid is trying her Super Hardest everytime she plays a shot....and folks, as long as Wiesy continues to try her hardest, I will always be a fan of Wiesy Golf....if the kid doesn't QUIT...then neither do I
granted that I am a very Biased fan of WieGolf....but folks, you just gotta see the kid play live golf....Wie Golf is SUPER EXCITING and Never Boring....I don't know what it is, but the magnetism of Wiesy playing sure keeps wieWatchers glued to their seats in anticipation....you sort of don't know what to expect next
anyway...this is just my personal opinion about Wie golf...I love being a part of WieNation...I wouldn't trade it for anything else....
anyway...I suspect the cutline to be about 5 or 6 over par tomorrow...thus, I still have hopes of Wiesy Playing the weekend
anyway...aloha and have a great evening...see ya....GO Wiesy GO

Great post wiefan..........You are THERE..........the rest of the above.........are NOT there!.........what do THEY know??.........on her interview after her round..........she told GC that she was a little excited on those early holes........but felt she played better in the later holes.........which she DID!..........she also said she was looking forward to round 2.........did you hear what she told her caddy after her 2nd shot on the toughest hole on the course - the 18th?.........."Oh my God.....that was perfect,"........we all heard it clear and loud on TV.........it took a bad bounce to the right and into the rough close to the green.........we didn't see it..........but she thought her chip shot birdie try was IN!.........so she plays that tough hole with a tap-in par to close out her round on a good note.........I am looking forward to the 2nd round where she should get good TV coverage again..........even Judy Rankin said that a good round tomorrow could turn it all around for Michelle!.........

Boola, Your comment that one has to "be there" to know if she is playing well is absurd. Bill Parcells used to say, "you are what your record says you are."
She's way over par on a course she knows. She is likely to miss the cut. I love Wiefan's enthusiasm! He's the best. But, he knows there are issues here. It's not even a roller coaster at this point, it's more of an impending train wreck.
Boola, please tell me why you would consider continuing the same course, the same team - when the results have been so poor? It makes no sense. None.
I watch that beautiful swing of hers, and all it does is make me wonder why she can't put it together. Her best golf recently was at Solheim - away from her "team."
I see no reason for optimism. Her putting woes continue, she can't score, can't make cuts. Like I said, I am very bummed by this. I was so looking forward to watching her battle for a win this weekend - she's 10 back after ONE round!!!
I have no clue how this ends up, but I think her career is in jeopardy if she continues with Leadbetter. She also needs a sports psychologist, in my humble opinion. She has WAY too much ability for this type of continued poor performance.
OK, I vented. Here's hoping she shoots lights out today and plays the weekend!

A word of advice, listen to Wiefan if you want to understand Wie Golf! He has seen her in action more then anyone on this board. I've been to a couple of her tournaments and it is exciting and will be exciting again. I liked her response at the end of the tournament yesterday. I know some of you find it hard to believe but she was excited and upbeat to be at the tournament. Did you see her driving distance? She was playing golf and some got kind of wild hit or wind, don't know, evan in the water once caused the DB's! Nothing new about that. She said she felt her putting was improving. She was happy, evan got a little angry! Michelle said no more studying, reports, tests, classes. She is done with that! That must mean she's not planning to go for a Master's in something, she's ready to play golf. She will have more time to practice, not be so tired. Personally I don't care if she misses the cut, it's just a game, should be fun, and it's not the end of Wiesy Golf. Jessica interviewed said the three of them had fun! Good!
