Round TwoInjured Wie withdraws from Women's British OpenBy Beth Ann Nichols TURNBERRY, Scotland –– Michelle Wie stepped in a hole early on in her second round at Trump Turnberry and felt a sharp pain in her left ankle. She then slipped walking off the 13th tee box, aggravating her foot so much she couldn’t put weight on it. That sequence sums up Wie’s health of late: stuck in a rut. For weeks months now Wie has struggled with lingering bursitis in her left hip and now a bone spur in her left ankle. She was 10 over for the day when she withdrew on the 13th hole Friday at the Ricoh Women’s British Open, 14 over for the tournament. “As frustrating as it is,” said Wie, “it just seems like I can’t force it anymore.” She saw a physio after the round and learned, fortunately, that she hadn’t injured the ankle any further. She competed in what she called a “terminator brace” down her left leg and wore a protective boot after the round. Wie said she felt unprepared for a course like Turnberry, not having practiced at all the two weeks prior. “I’m going to go back home to assess the situation and see what I can do with it,” she said. “With stuff like this you just don’t know … you treat it like an ankle sprain. Could be a week or two months. “I’m still hopeful.”Link to Article;golfweek.com/news/2015/jul/31/lpga-michelle-wie-womens-british-open-trump-turnbe/

Try to heal properly and don't rush it Michelle. If you need to shut it down for the year, so be it.
