History: The U.S. Women's Open is solely conducted by the USGA. This event began in 1946 and is the longest-running tournament currently on the LPGA Tour. It is one of the LPGA's five major championships.
In 2014, In her 11th appearance at the national championship and making her 38th start in a major, Michelle Wie etched her name in the history books at the esteemed Pinehurst No. 2. Growing up in the limelight of bigstage golf, the 24-year old from Hawaii has played under lofty expectations her entire career and has now joined the elite company of those who can call themselves ‘major champions.’ With a final-round even-par 70, Wie finished the championship two shots ahead of runner-up and world No. 1 Stacy Lewis.

Just a few quick notes from Morning Drive:
Michelle played a round yesterday and said the course was hard.
They said the course would be Par? Par would be winning score?

Also, at the Arkansas Tournament it was noted that Michelle was hitting high shots onto the green and they commented on that.

Could Michelle have been practicing for the Women's Open?
The reason I say that is this:

"Nearly half of the tee shots at Lancaster – excluding the par-3 holes – are hit into upslopes, where the player gets minimal roll"

Originally designed by William Flynn and opened in 1920, the Old Course at Lancaster C.C. will measure 6,406 yards (par 70) for the U.S. Women’s Open. It is the first USGA championship to be contested at the venue, which underwent an extensive renovation in 2007 under the guidance of Ron Forse.

Wie battling injuries, new swing as she defends Open
