In 2014: Rolex Rankings No.1 Stacy Lewis has been one of the main characters in the storybook script that has unfolded on the LPGA Tour in 2014. The former University of Arkansas Razorback stood in the spotlight once again on Sunday, this time in her adopted home of Northwest Arkansas. Lewis was a standout at nearby U of A in Fayetteville, a twenty minute drive from Pinnacle Golf Club, and said her 11th career victory this week ranks high on her list of the most special wins of her career. The six-year Tour veteran said she had a mix emotions running throughout the entire day.

I haven't posted since I followed M at US Open 2 yrs ago. Westchester was first chance to see her in person. Drove down Sunday morning and caught up on 9th tee where she was 2 over. Here is summary

9th drive left in to bunker, lay up to 2nd cut, great wedge to 15ft (semi blind shot) but missed putt
10th Drivable which Klatten did but M laid up. Wedge one bounce beyond pin but drew back to front edge, 2 putt. Unlucky.
11th Perfect drive, perfect mid iron to 6 ft, birdie. 11th had fewest birdies for the week.
12th Yanked drive left, lay up to wedge distance. Another semi blind shot under 10ft- birdie.
13th and 14th routine pars
15th Par 5, center cut drive, hybrid to middle of green, 2 putt birdie.
16th Long par 3, GIR but at least 50 ft. Putt to 4 ft but missed so a 3 putt. Sharp look to gallery suggest she was disturbed on 2nd putt.
17th center cut drive but terrible wedge to front right of green but chipped it in- Wow!
18th Good drive, lay up and wedge to 10 ft, birdie.
5 birdies in last 8 holes, despite 2 poor drives and 1 poor wedge, Approach shots were on the pin except the one wedge,that is where her issues have been i.e. not giving herself birdie chances.

She really looked good, she was swinging within herself, so very optimistic for Arkansas and more importantly the US Open.

Can't wait to see if it continues.

Excellent report…Michelle had only one Mojo chip-in Birdie…

In this tournament, Michelle has 5 par 3’s …So, it may be a good gauge on how she is doing with her short and long irons going into the US Open??
