Hi ya WieNation...ahhh what a great tournament...Wiesy played TOUGH GRITTY golf in the Howling winds today...one big blip on the double bogey 15th hole...but otherwise a pretty good day....you might be questioning her putting...but believe me...Putting in the STRONG wind is NO GIMMEE....the wind affected her stance and concentration and more important, the roll of the ball...as I am sure that you saw her holes on the back nine...lemme tell you about her OVERALL play today...Wiesy was in FULL attack mode from the get-go...I was sitting on the back of the green on almost every hole and her shots to the green was 100% Flag attack...some short, some OVER, a lot were wind affected...but Wiesy was super fun to watch...even the hard pins were attacked or at least attempted...I was so so proud to be a member of WieNation...when she did pull out driver, she was CRACKING it SOLID and LONG...today was the first time that she tried to reach ALL OF THE PAR FIVES IN TWO...holes 1, 13 and 14...she was just in front of the green with TWO massive shots...I don't think any other player attempted to reach in two...on the Par five 5th...I think she just mishit her 2nd shot with the Wind REALLY BLOWING at her back...the wind that blows on Hole #5 is EXTRA EXTRA STRONG...EVERY DAY
I wish to make a comment about what I saw as I was leaving the golf course...as you know I have always given BJ Wie a pass, as to how he acts at the course...it is my belief, that he as a father played a huge part in helping Wiesy become financially stable for the rest of her lifetime....his helicopter parenting has a lot of people turned off...a lot of people like Wiesy, but they abhor the parents...I can understand this point of view, but I have never negatively commented about this....I figure "to each his own" mantra...but what I saw in the parking lot as I was Leaving the Golf course really turned me off...Wiesy was with her mom at the scoring tent...Wiesy was busy signing autographs and her Mom was patiently waiting....but way off from them in the parking lot, I saw BJ sitting on the back of a SUV with the back hatch lifted open...next to him was Duncan...I could see BJ flipping pages after pages of his notepad and between each flip of the page, I could see him floating his hand left and right and up and down in the motion of how the wind was or how the slope broke or whatever...I wasn't close enough to hear so I really don't know what they were discussing,,,but I do believe that it was truly golf related...after every flip of BJ's Pages, he would make a motion and then I would see Duncan making his hand motions as to what he saw...anyway...my point is this...the TOURNAMENT is OVER...they are NOT playing tomorrow...Wiesy did a SUPER Job playing in this tough windy conditions...the next time they ever play this course is NEXT YEAR, in that time, a lot of things can change...Duncan just got through walking and guiding Wiesy on a difficult leg sore course...give Duncan a break...he doesn't have to explain his and Wiesy decision on what they saw or did to BJ...Duncan is a terrific caddy for Wiesy...he is Laid back and obviously very knowledgeable...I pity the poor kid...especially since THE TOURNAMENT IS DONE...this is not after round one, two or three...this grilling of notes taken by BJ AFTER THE FINAL ROUND is IN MY OPINION...Ridiculous Micro managing...for heavens sake, Wiesy came in 11th place, the best finish she has had so far this year...anyway...enough of my opinion...personally in my opinion, I think Wiesy played SUPERB Golf...she was focused and she hit the ball solidly
anyway...have a great evening everyone...see ya and Aloha....thank you for letting me write these fan diaries...it was fun...aloha
