Hello Wie Nation: The week of the International Crown was a strange week of tweeting by Michelle? ? Michelle missed out on the first International Crown, and from this picture, I am assuming Michelle had the Olympics on her mind and she does not want to miss out on the 2016 Olympics: She’s been working hard and is ready to play some good golf at the Meijer Lpga Classic… So, this being the first tournament in a long time for this area, I think there will be a lot of low scores this week... Rd. 1...66...-5 Rd. 2...68...-3 Rd. 3...67...-4 Rd. 4...66...-5 Tot…..267...-17 Go michelle go Got to love wie golf Bobawiefan

MICHELLE TO MISS 3 TO 5 WEEKS WITH FINGER INJURY *************************************************** USA TODAY: www.usatoday.com/story/sports/golf/lpga/2014/08/09/michelle-wie-finger-injury/13827709/Reigning U.S. Women's Open champion Michelle Wie will miss the next three to five weeks with a finger injury. Wie, who also won in Hawaii this season, has a stress reaction in a bone of the index finger on her right hand (the picture above was taken in a mirror). Wie withdrew from this week's Meijer LPGA Classic and consulted with hand surgeon Dr. Tom Graham. She made the announcement Saturday through her management team. "I was looking forward to playing the next three weeks," Wie said. "It's honestly one of my favorite stretches on tour. It's extremely disappointing to miss these events, but I am relieved to have a proper diagnosis." Wie will miss the fourth major championship of the season, the Wegmans LPGA Championship in Rochester, N.Y., next week. She will also not play in the Canadian Pacific Women's Open and the Portland Classic. "Seven years ago, I would have tried to play through this injury and it is important to me not to make that mistake again," Wie said. "I feel more comfortable now listening to my body. And, while it's hard to miss this stretch of events, I know I will be better suited to continue a great year and finish strong." According to Graham, Wie developed the injury through the wear and tear of playing. Graham explained that injuries of this severity typically require about three to five weeks of limited practice and play before the athlete can return to competition.
