more pics and videos on my blog:: Na Yeon Choi Maintains Lead After 2nd Round Of 2011 CME Group TitleholdersNa Yeon ChoiOn a day when scoring conditions toughened for the world’s best women golfers, Na Yeon Choi finished as she did after round 1, atop the leaderboard. However, her 1-under 71 2nd round was anything but routine. After finishing round 1 with a bogey on 18, she started round 2 with a double bogey on the first hole. She would birdie 4 and bogey 6 to remain at 2-over for the round going into the 7th hole. That’s where she would turn her round around. She hit a brilliant chip from the rough off the green for birdie. Her game picked up from there, hitting her approach shot to 5 feet on the 9th hole, leading to birdie. She would add birdies on 10 and 17, but for the second straight day, NYC bogeyed the par 4 18th. It’s terrific that she’s leading at 7-under overall, but it would probably be a good idea to find a solution for the 18th hole, lest that be the difference between winning or not. Paula CreamerBecause if she doesn’t, there are a host of players on her heels capable of passing her, including Paula Creamer and Sandra Gal. For all of her pink affinity, don’t underestimate the fighting spirit of the Pink Panther. She has not won since last year’s US Women’s Open. For some players, that wouldn’t be an issue, but for Paula not to have an LPGA win in 2011 is sub-par. I’m sure she would love nothing more than to end the year holding the 2011 CME Group Titleholders winner’s trophy.

more videos and pics on my blog: Sandra Gal, Hee Young Park Tied After 3rd Round Of 2011 CME Group TitleholdersSandra GalThis is a great way to end the 2011 LPGA season. Going into the final round of the 2011 CME Group Titleholders, Sandra Gal and Hee Young Park are tied atop the leaderboard at 7-under. The group within 3 shots or less reads like a who’s who of tour aces…Suzann Pettersen, Paula Creamer, Na Yeon Choi and Player of the Year Yani Tseng. Expect fireworks on Sunday. This will be anybody’s tournament. Hee Young ParkOf those players, Hee Young Park is seeking her first LPGA victory. Th 2005 KLPGA Rookie of the Year and 6-time winner on the Korean tour. I like seeing first time winners and am a Seoul Sisters fan, so I will definitely cheer her on. She was tied for the lead on the final hole of the 2011 Safeway Classic but a finishing bogey dropped her into 3rd place. If she has another opportunity to win on Sunday, hopefully she will close the show this time.

more pics on my blog: Hee Young Park Wins First LPGA Title At 2011 CME Group TitleholdersHee Young ParkThe name of this event was the 2011 CME Group Titleholders. But of the top 5 after round 3, the one player without an LPGA title was Hee Young Park. A multiple winner on the KLPGA, Hee Young said she was thirsty for her first LPGA win. According to Park, even her sponsor was itching to see a victory. The wait is over. Showing steely nerves, Hee Young Park fired a 2-under round to push her to 9-under overall, good enough for a 2 shot victory over Paula Creamer and playing partner Sandra Gal. Hee Young has been close before, but came up short late. On this day, she was solid coming in. Even when she landed in a drain off the green late, she didn’t bother with calling a rules official. In these days of fans calling in violations from their couch, Hee Young showed great confidence in a pressure situation. We might also see her sister, Ju Young Park (can also write it Choo Young Park), on tour next year. A pro on the KLPGA, Ju Young is heading to Q-school to try to qualify for 2012. I’m sure sister Hee Young’s win will add extra inspiration.
