more pics and full leaderboard on my blog: Yukari Baba Holds Lead At 2011 JLPGA Masters GC Ladies When 2nd Round Suspended By Thunderstorm; Paula Creamer 4 Shots Back Fairways and ForehandsYukari BabaWith thunderstorms suspending play at the 2011 JLPGA Masters GC Ladies before all golfers could complete their 2nd rounds, Yukari Baba, who did complete her round, holds a tenuous lead at 4-under par. After an even par 1st round, Yukari fired 5 birdies and 1 bogey to grab the pole position. She finished with a flourish, birdying 15, 17 and 18. However, several competitors are right on her heels at 3-under with holes left to play in the 2nd round, including the great Yuri Fudoh. Paula CreamerAmerican Paula Creamer, who also completed her 2nd round, is 4 shots back at even par for the tournament. She has had 2 birdie, 2 bogey scorecards in both rounds. She has started well both rounds, birdying the opening hole par 5, but has stumbled when making the turn, bogeying 11 in the 1st round and 10 and 12 in the 2nd round. That said, we all know 4 shots (if that is the deficit when the round is completed) is not out of reach for a player of the Pink Panther’s ability. Paula won this event in 2005, one of two JLPGA events Paula has won, along with the 2005 NEC Karuizawa 72. Akane IijimaSakura YokomineRitsuko Ryu

more pics on my blog: Shiho Oyama Outduels Paula Creamer In Playoff To Win 2011 JLPGA Masters GC Ladies Fairways and ForehandsShiho Oyama, 2011 JLPGA Masters GC LadiesShiho Oyama won her 12th career JLPGA victory by outdueling Paula Creamer in a playoff to win the 2011 JLPGA Masters GC Ladies. Shiho has fought through injury issues, having not won an event since the 2008 Masters GC Ladies. On this day she had to withstand a fierce 7-under charge by Paula. The Pink Panther stormed out of the gate birdying 4, 6, 7 and 9 to sit at 4-under at the turn. The previous two days Paula stumbled after the turn, but not this time. She had a clean bogey free final round, adding 3 more birdies on the backside. Paula CreamerWith Paula putting on the heat, Oyama rose to the challenge. Shiho had a 6 birdie, 1 bogey 5-under 67 to equal Paula at 7-under overall. Especially clutch was a 15 meter birdie on 18 to force the playoff. Paula is widely known to be a great champion with a winner’s heart. So is Shiho. She had 11 JLPGA wins under her belt before this event. However, her lack of a win in 3 years might have suggested Paula had the mental advantage. But on the third hole of the playoff, Shiho shook off the winless drought with a birdie to reach the pinnacle again. Shiho OyamaPaula CreamerChie ArimuraAkane Iijima

Very exciting finish for the Japanese fans! They love Paula C, but must've been thrilled with one of their players winning.

Very exciting finish for the Japanese fans! They love Paula C, but must've been thrilled with one of their players winning. That 15 meter (almost 50 foot) putt on 18...hitting the drive to the cart path and having it bounce back into the fairway of playoff hole 3...sometimes it's just meant to be your day...
