As expected, the LPGA has scheduled a news conference for Thursday at TwinEagles in North Naples, presumably to formally announce that in 2012, the tour championship will move from Orlando to TwinEagles in North Naples. Among those scheduled to attend the announcement are Michael Whan and Morgan Pressel.

I hate that it's moving, for selfish reasons. I'm close to Orlando and not so close to Naples.
Last year's attendance at Grand Cypress was very poor, but I attributed most of that to the terrible weather. It happened on a very cold and windy w/end in Florida. Pretty brutal.
Also, maybe in Naples there aren't so many distractions for people to do as in Orlando with all the attractions. Naples is a more "retired" community than Orlando is.

That is a bummer...wait, let me go look a map of Florida for a moment... .... ...ok, I'm back...wow, that is quite out of the way...I was thinking maybe you might have a 45 minute or hour drive...but Naples looks as far south as Ft. Lauderdale...but on the opposite side...

Yeah...it's not exactly a day trip for me. Oh well. Maybe it'll be more successful in Naples.
