A traditional course has narrow fairways and well-bunkered greens. The fairways are mostly hilly, and the greens are undulating. A creek gently meanders through the lush seven holes.

This tournament course may be a good reflection on how well Michelle is doing with her driver and approach shots…narrow fairways and well-bunkered greens. In the Evian tournament, Michelle was 2 of 7 for sand saves??

Whether or not feeling better in her personal life helps her golf game remains to be seen???
But, I think the Evian Masters tournament may have been a turning point in Michelle’s golf game…and all my barometer signs are up and are positive for Michelle; and I think she is going to do quite well for the rest of the golf season…

Yup…I believe Michelle may be building a strong bridge over her troubled waters…

LPGA's Jamie Farr back on the schedule, but no TV

The good news: Jamie Farr Toledo Classic is back on the schedule. The bad news: Fans won’t be able to see it.

The longtime LPGA event returns this week after a one-year hiatus, but tournament officials opted not to pay for a television package. The LPGA released a statement regarding the situation, noting that “Due to current economic conditions and the desire to leave a positive financial impact on the Toledo community and local charities, it was determined that televising the tournament would be counterproductive to the event’s goal in the short term.”

Communications chief Kraig Kann said the tournament was slated for this week because much of the golf world will be focused on the PGA Championship at Kiawah. Going forward, however, the event plans to make every effort to get back on television. It will be a priority.

“We’re not in the business of not having events being televised,” Kann said.

The last time that an LPGA domestic event went untelevised was the 2010 Jamie Farr.

The money saved by not televising the event – roughly $500,000, according to the LPGA – can be put toward local charities and boosting the purse. It’s an unfortunate and rare situation for the LPGA (the Nov. 2-4 Mizuno Classic in Japan also will not be televised), but some perspective is in order.

It’s better for everyone involved – players, charities, local fans – to remain in the Toledo market and have an event that’s less than perfect (for one year) than to not have one at all. Attendance this week should be fantastic.

It’s not ideal. But, really, few things are in this economy.
