Kia Motors has partnered with West Coast Customs to develop customized vehicles inspired by Blake Griffin and Michelle Wie for the 2011 SEMA Show.
For this year’s SEMA Show, Kia has partnered with the world famous West Coast Customs to create one-of-a-kind rides inspired by two of the most recognizable young athletes in professional sports: basketball all-star Blake Griffin and professional golfer Michelle Wie. Kia will debut six sports-themed vehicles on November 1 at SEMA, including a 2012 Soul designed and built by West Coast Customs in Corona, Calif. that features a fanciful exterior paint scheme based on artwork Michelle Wie created for the custom golf bags she uses at LPGA events.
Two of Wie’s tournament-used bags are mounted in the cargo area to support a flat-screen TV and Microsoft® X-Box video game console and Microsoft ® Kinect that allows passengers to play golf off the back of the Soul.
Wie, who is Kia Motors’ official golf ambassador and spokesperson, is deeply connected with Kia’s funky urban passenger vehicle. When she’s attending classes at Stanford University, Wie drives a Soul around the streets of Palo Alto, Calif., and has also appeared in television and print advertising campaigns for the Soul.
Kia will unveil the West Coast Customs-built Soul, and five additional vehicles developed with high-profile partners, during its SEMA Show press conference on Tuesday, November 1 at 9:30 a.m.
