Well!!!…That was an extraordinary surfing expedition…I smashed my English surf board up against the Google translator….I didn’t understand any of the interviews or articles…
While I didn’t lose my swim trunks, I managed to embarrass myself with a Freudian slip…
And, I almost drowned in my own tears of sorrow as my great expectations came crashing down on me..
A positive negative…I got the weekend off…

Morgan Pressel’s bid to win her second Salonpas Cup championship in three years was derailed Sunday in Japan.

South Korea’s Sun Ju Ahn, the ninth-ranked player in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings, defeated Pressel and Inbee Park in a playoff in a Japan LPGA Tour major at Ibaraki Golf Club. Ahn is the highest ranked player in the world who isn’t a member of the American-based LPGA. She was the Japan LPGA Tour’s leading money winner the last two seasons.

Ahn came from three shots back Sunday to catch Pressel, the leader going into the final round. Ahn rolled in a 6-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to win.

Horrible driver slice to the right on 17, chunked second , mediocre pitch, totally misread 1st putt and brave comebacker for par. Another driver slice on 18 followed by sensational 2nd - it's easy to see where the problems lie...

Michelle is converting from a draw to a fade, that takes time and will pay big dividends for the rest of her career, that type change usually takes two years...but I think she will need less than that, the changes started last year, before the Solheim cup, we can still exect a few wicked hooks, out of bounds shots, and some bad slices until the changeover is complete. It would be really interesting to find out what setup changes she is making, a fade can be produced with a weaker grip, open stance , open clubface, or an out to in swing path...or even more complicated setups.

So to all fans of Michelle, chill out she is working on the problem, if you cannot wait, please quietly transfer to the MichelleWieFan website.

Hi ya smiller...now that "red part" was funny....anyway...I am with you about Wiesy is working on her problems...in fact, I don't even think it is that too big of a problem....there is NOTHING wrong with her ball striking and her putting....it seems like all we ever see are her MISS HITS or bad putts...you don't really get to see all of her GREAT and Terriffic shots and putts, unless you go to a tournament and follow the kid shot for shot and hole after hole....Michelle's Highlights doesn't tell the OVERALL Picture of her game....Wiesy misses drives and putts, just like ALL of the players in the LPGA...it is just that the media LOVES to show Wiesy's Misses....this is due to the large following that Wie Golf has created...lots of pro-Wiesy and Anti-wiesy media followers....I am not saying that this is UNFAIR to Wiesy....the kid is making the BIG bucks because of these type of followings...so you gotta take the good with the bad.....but accessing Wiesy's complete golf game because of just a SLUMP that she is in...is NOT really looking at the TOTAL OVERALL WIESY GOLF GAME...in my VERY PERSONAL OPINION...there is absolutely NOTHING wrong in Wiesy's golf game that a good ROUND of tournament golf will prove...all she needs is that ONE Big ENERGY BOOST to charge up her confidence level....Believe me..." Great post wiefan.........I agree with much of what you posted.......I am ALSO a great believer in Wiesy Golf........you know she is down in Florida practicing with David..........and probably trying to perfect her new fade.......if she can get that shot in decent shape.........she could do very well in the Sybase event..........and then continue her good play throughout the summer.........that approach shot from the rough on the 18th was fantastic.........why even I could have made that putt.......and that's saying something!........I also agree with what smiller posted........that ALL of us Wiesy fans should be willing to wait a bit........until she has this new swing perfected..........and I think that when she does.........her putting will get better also.........

Interesting to see that on both her driver swings she's setting up very open - on the 18th she's actually aiming her foot and shoulder line at the tees on the left - then hits a kind of block fade and loses it miles right. An open stance is of course one way to hit fade.

Nothing wrong with going to a fade - more control, higher ballflight, and she has the length to afford to give up a few yards in distance. 2 years is what Tiger's always on about - seems a very long time for someone working fulltime but Ok. In the meantime she's fallen to 30 on the Rolex Rankings, from 7 a couple of years ago. More importantly - who's going to get her putting sorted out ? - Leadbetter knows even less about this than the long game.
