Hi ya fellow WieWatchers….boy oh boy…what a day…it was great seeing the LPGA back in town…and also fun to get to watch Wiesy once again…I think she should think about “Sleeping with her putter”…gulp…anyway…her putter again was unpredictable…BUT…the good news is that Wiesy’s tee to green game is still pretty darn good….she had a few miss shots that cost her…but all in all she hit the ball solid…Lexi had sort of like the same problem (Not Lexi’s Putter….but her driver got Lexi in trouble a few times)…Jessica Korda is STEADY as a rock…today, Jessica was Never in BIG trouble…minor trouble that cost her a few strokes…but otherwise, steady with her pars
The wind was very unpredictable..at times they were about 25 MPH and then presto, down to 10 MPH….Wiesy handled herself in these conditions pretty well
When I got to the course, I got to see Lexi and Wiesy at the driving range…both of them were hitting it straight and LONG…fun stuff to watch
Anyway…on to the holes that I was taking notes…I knew that TV was coming on at 12:30…so I stopped taking notes then…also….here is how I watch Tournament golf….I plant myself at the halfway point of the fairway…and with my trusty Binoculors, I get to see the players hit off the tee…I then scurry off to the green to watch their 2nd shots…I then look at my course map, and if I know that the Marshalls are going to HOLD up everyone from going to the next hole, I then make my way to the next hole fairway and perk up my “Listening Ears “ to see if a player made their putts for Birdies…if “NO NOISE from the gallery”, I take it as a player will have a two putt Par….gulp!!!....Wiesy completely throws this theory out of the window ( 4 putt, three putt…hmmmm….gulp)…anyway…the walking scorer comfirms whether or not a player did make their putts…anyway…good news/Bad News….bad news is that I miss some of the putting on the greens…Good news is that I also don’t get a heart attack when Wiesy misses her short ones…gulp….hmmm
Hole #1…Wiesy’s drive is fairway right center…20 yards past Lexi…Lexi center cut fairway…Wiesy lays up perfect, 3rd to about 10 feet…ends up with a par
Hole #2…Killer hole for Wiesy…hit her tee shot into the water on the right side,,,next shot on the green about 30 feet away…Kid gets a double Bogey ( You figure out how many putts….hmmm)
Hole #3…Great Drive…Long and Center Cut…about 10 yards longer than Lexi…terrific 2nd shot to about a foot…easy wiesy Birdie
Hole #4…Wind was really whipping… Par three…Wiesy’s hit the green and was about 35 feet away… a Double Bogey ( you figure out the # of Putts)… This was Wiesy’s KILLER DILLER HOLE
Hole #5… Opportunity wasted hole for the kid….Wiesy CRANKED her drive over 300 yards long and way way down the fairway…her long 2nd shot was pretty darn good also…it was HOLE HIGH in the green fringe…an easy pitch and putt for Birdie it would seem….so I went to the restroom and proceeded to hole #6….YIKES…when I seen the walking scorer having Wiesy ONLY PAR…I almost FAINTED from Shock… …I almost died…this hole was a killer
Hole #6…New Development hole for Wiefan…I got to meet and chit chat with Lexi’s Mom….she watches Tournament golf in the same way as I do…a really NICE Lady…anyway…Wiesy center cuts the fairway about 7 yards behind Lexi….hits her 2nd shot to about 25 feet…Birdie Putt about 1 foot short…but a tap in Par…WHEW…after what wiesy has been experiencing with her putter…this was a welcomed Par…lol
Hole #7…another Center Cut Fairway drive for Wiesy…about one yard behind Lexi
Hole #8…Wind was STRONG…Wiesy was about one foot short of the green….Good Par for the Kid
Hole #9…Missed taking notes on this hole…I was eating my snack and figuring my strategy for the back nine…lol….perhaps a good thing for my blood Pressure as Wiesy Bogeyed this hole
Hole #10…walking and eating my lunch caused me to “FORGET” what happened on this hole
Hole #11…Dangerous Hole for wiefan …1st off, Lexi Sails her drive RIGHT OVER MY HEAD and it goes Out of Bounds….Wiesy then hits her drive “DIRECTLY in line with my binoculars”…yikes….the fairway sand bunkers saved me from getting a Black and Blue eye socket…whew!!....nice shot/bad shot time…Lexi hit a provisional from the tee and her next shot was BRILLIANT…she salvaged a SUPER BOGEY…great shot from Lexi….bad shot time…again with the Putter for Wiesy…missed a 5 foot par save….hmmm
Hole 12…last note taking hole…Wiesy and Jessica had sand save pars and Lexi CHIPS in for a Birdie….Lexi’s Mom was Next to me and she ran over to give me a HIGH FIVE….ahhh….I just love it when a Parent get excited when her kid does good….good stuff!!!
Anyway…I later gave Lexi’s Mom a Bag of my “Smuggled in Pretzels”…she said that Lexi Loves this stuff….tomorrow’s plan for Wiefan….Give Lexi some more Pretzels….in fact, I think I will give Lexi’s Mom a Lei to give to Lexi….I was going to give one to Mrs Creamer, but I don’t think I will run into them…I just might tell Lexi’s Mom that the Lei is compliments of Gxer….Lexi’s # 1 Fan….hmmm…better not…lol
Also…I got to see good ol Cougar on Hole #2….ahhh it was great to see the LPGA SUPER VOLUNTEER OF THE DECADE…way to go Cougar….and thanks for the Volunteer Parking Pass
A Wiefan Prayer…come on Wiesy…Let’s make the CUT…I have already bought the Season Pass for this tournament at $25…daily tickets are $10….you do the Math….come on Wiesy…you can do this…your tee to green game is SOLID…let’s sink some putts and AVOID those DREADFUL THREE PUTTS and FOUR PUTT….folks…here is what I predict….Wiesy WILL MAKE THE CUT with a terrific round tomorrow…solid ball striking and DECENT putting….whew,,,,come on Wiesy, you can do this….
