more pics and leaderboard on my blog: Three Way Tie Atop Leaderboard After Second Round Of 2012 Yokohama Tire PRGR Ladies Cup Fairways and ForehandsAyako UeharaThe ladies at the 2012 Yokohama Tire PRGR Ladies Cup fought the course and the wind in round 2. When the dust settled, the scoreboard looked like a US Women’s Open. 4-over par through 2 rounds was good enough for a 17th place tie. At the top of the leaderboard, Ayako Uehara, Mi-Jeong Jeon and JLPGA legend Yuri Fudoh finished the round locked in a three way tie for first at 1-under. However, Ayako was the only player among those three to shoot under par for the round at 2-under. MJJ shot 2-over while Yuri struggled to finish 3-over for the round, despite an eagle on 12. more pics and leaderboard on my blog: Bo-Mee Lee Wins 2012 Yokohama Tire PRGR Ladies Cup In Playoff Over Sun Ju Ahn Fairways and ForehandsBo-Mee Lee, 2012 Yokohama Tire PRGR Ladies Cup winnerBo-Mee Lee (or Bo-Mi Lee) might not be a name familiar to a lot of American LPGA fans, unless they happened to also be Seoul Sisters fans. After KLPGA ace Jiyai Shin left her homeland for the LPGA tour in America, Hee Kyung Seo marched to Player of the Year in 2009 on the KLPGA. In 2010, Hee Kyung was again expected to dominate in South Korea, but instead Bo-Mee Lee emerged as the top player on the KLPGA that year, winning 3 times, including a KLPGA Major, and 15 (out of 19) top 10s. Rather than set her sails for America, as so many top Koreans had done before her, she stayed closer to home by joining the LPGA of Japan Tour (JLPGA) through Q-school qualifying. Although 2011 was her rookie year on the JLPGA, the earthquake and cancellation of events caused her to split her time between the KLPGA and JLPGA. So she feels 2012 is her first full year on the JLPGA. It was the second straight playoff to start the JLPGA season as Bo-Mee Lee found herself locking horns with an old rival from the KLPGA, two-time defending JLPGA Player of the Year, Sun Ju Ahn. On a day when scoring conditions were considerably more favorable than in Saturday’s round two, Sun Ju Ahn charged up the leaderboard with a 6 birdie, 1 bogey 5-under 67 that included 3 straight birdies on 2, 3 and 4. With Bo-Mee turning in a 4 birdie, 1 bogey 3-under 69, both ladies found themselves all alone at 3-under overall at the end of regulation play. On the second playoff hole, Bo-Mee would convert her par putt while Sun Ju bogeyed to give the former KLPGA Player of the Year her first win on the JLPGA.
