Michelle with singer-actor Aaron KwokMichelle Wie was in Hong Kong following the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia to participate in a golf even to raise funds for UNICEF. The event was aimed at benefiting UNICEF's Child-Friendly Schools Program in East Asia and the Pacific. A terrific cause and great for Michelle to participate. But, of course, what reached back here to the States were her comments on current prodigy, 16-year old Alexis Thompson. Michelle was also a prodigy, of course. She didn't win an LPGA tournament at 16 like Lexi has done. But she did display great talent and knows what it's like to be under the microscope at an early age.

I was against Lexi receiving a special age exemption, though now that she's won and won't join until next year, it's a done deal.
Just don't like Rules being waived. Either the LPGA should change/amend the age requirement Rule, or enforce it.

I was a supporter of Lexi being in...but I see your point...what other league has a rule and then acts in a manner that will make them have to bend those rules? If you can't be a member at whatever age they decide...let's say 18...but then you let 14 and 15 year olds play...well, what happens if they win? Youngsters can win now. Maybe there was a time a 15 or 16 year old was not a real threat to win...that's not the case anymore...there is another phenom out there named Lydia Ko, even younger than Lexi, whom they better be careful about letting play... ...would the NFL or NBA say...ok, we are setting up an age restriction of 20 years old...and then let 15 year olds play? Of course not...
