more pics and video on my blog: Sun-Ju Ahn Wins 2016 Century 21 Ladies Golf TournamentSun-Ju AhnIn back to back weeks the South Korean dominance in women’s golf continued on the LPGA of Japan. Last week, Mi-Jeong Jeon notched JLPGA career victory number 23. This week, with her win at the 2016 Century 21 Ladies Golf Tournament, 3-time money list winner Sun-Ju Ahn earned her 21st career win on the Japanese tour. Call it 21 at 21. Ahn recorded a 5-under 67 to come from behind and claim the title at 9-under overall, 1 shot clear of Erika Kikuchi and Megumi Kido. Megumi was the overnight leader, but after her first round 66, she couldn’t find any consistency the next two rounds, mixing in eagles, birdies, bogeys and double bogeys. She was 9-under at the turn on day 3, but a bogey and double bogey on the back 9 canceled her 2 birdies on the back side and then some, dropping her back to 8-under. It was still tied on 18, but Sun-Ju Ahn was the only one of the threesome to birdie, and thus capture the win. On a personal fan note, I’m always happy to see Onnarin Sattayabanphot of Thailand seize a top 5 finish. Also, let me give a big shout out to American Sierra Brooks, a tie for 8th place and the low amateur. 1 SUN-JU AHN (-9) T2 MEGUMI KIDO (-8) T2 ERIKA KIKUCHI (-8) 4 MISUZU NARITA (-7) T5 HARUKA MORITA (-6) T5 ONNARIN SATTAYABANPHOT (-6) T5 MI-JEONG JEON (-6) LOW AMATEUR T8 SIERRA BROOKS (-4)
