Aloha folks...this is Wind-burnt wiefan...whew...the wind today was whipping...when Cougar and I measured the wind yesterday, it was about 25 MPH...today it felt like DOUBLE that...I had to turn my golf hat backwards and hunker forward...it was blowing hard...sort of like my posts...gulp
anyway...today Natalie, Cheyenne, and Wiesy really had a tough day...actually Ms Woods was hitting tee to green pretty good...both Natalie and Wiesy had good and bad moments...wiesy was pretty off on her drives and irons...I wish she would have hit her stinger shot more often...she was having difficulty judging the wind
the killer hole for this group was the REACHABLE par five 5th with the wind howling BEHIND the player's back...Cheyenne hit her drive about 270 and not a good angle for the green...her next shot went into the water....Natalie was center fairway with about a 280 drive...she also went into the water on her next shot....now Wiesy was a different story...she hit her drive over 330 and perfectly placed on flat level fairway...with a silly little ol' Iron in her hand...she pulled it fast left and also into the water...that was the killer for her and story for her day...but there is always Tomorrow...Wiesy will have to shoot at least 3 or 4 under to play the weekend...this is my guess
here is a little tidbit about what I noticed...I have noticed this EVERY time I see Natalie Gulbis play....she is just a HAPPY CAMPER...she hit her shot on #7 OB...but you do not see frustration or anger from her...she just shrugs it off and continue smiling and playing....this player has got to be the BEST ambassador of female golf...this is just my humble opinion
on another note...walking up and down hills in super windy conditions can sure take a toll on one's physical condition...I was kinda tired after today's round
A SUPER BUMMER MOMENT today...I left my house with my hand-rolled cigarettes but I stupidly FORGOT my lighter...I was DYING out there...Finally I seen a fella with a cigarette in his mouth after EIGHT HOLES of golf...whew...I was estatic...I was so hard up, that I Chain smoked three straight cigarettes...I was going for four but I was getting a little light-headed...I didn't light up until after the round and I got home...ahhh I am so disciplined...I am kinda proud of myself in a small way
anyway Folks...have a great day and evening...let's hope that Wiesy makes the cut tomorrow ...go Wiesy go...Aloha...see ya!!
