Hi ya everyone...this is a Lotte Pro-Am Diary for Both mylpga and michellewiecentral discussion forums
I met up with Good ol Cougar on Wiesy's 1st hole in the Pro-Am...it was GREAT to see good ol Dave...folks, he is still very Healthy and VERY informative on LPGA stuff....he is also Super generous, as he gave me tickets for the week and extra, and a Caddie Parking spot...so folks, with my Caddie Badge, should Wiesy's Caddie get tired and cannot continue...I will flash my Caddie Badge and just JUMP into action...if I don't have the correct Yardages and/or club selection...I will just BS my way...Perhaps this is the shot in the arm that the WieExpress needs...NO top tens so far this year...GULP
anyway...watching today's Pro-Am of Wiesy was pretty darn good...I like her NEW putting stance...it looks more comfortable and she was putting pretty darn well...I found out from Knowledgeable Cougar that the Pros just play 9 holes in the Pro-Am, then another Pro joins in the group for the remaining 9 holes...after 9 holes, Wiesy's Group was 6 under...the Leader was 11 under after 13 holes...so Wiesy's group was doing pretty darn good...a good sign to see for Fan's of Wiesy Golf...here is a little tidbit about the Pro-Am...Par is the Highest score you can get per hole...so in essense, NO group will shoot over Par...but this does NOT burst the Wiesy Team Bubble score in my book...the Kid was playing well
folks...lemme tell you about how important Cougar is to the LPGA Volunteer Department...beginning this morning, he was one of the Important People in the Shuttling of players...then they had trouble with the walking scorers...so Cougar became the #2 Main Man of the Walking scorers department...in fact, the Head Guy (Dan D.) was blazing down Wiesy's group in his cart to FIND COUGAR...it seems like he desperately needed Cougar to Collect the Player Cards for the Afternoon group of players...and on the street, a Tournament Car stopped...just to say hello to Cougar and shake his hand...yep folks...Cougar is "THE MAN" when it comes to LPGA volunteer...I am Blessed to know this Saint.
tomorrow, Cougar will be IN CHARGE of the 18th hole tent where players sign their cards after their round...I would venture a guess to say that this is the MOST IMPORTANT assignment that a volunteer can get assigned...I asked Cougar "to make absolutely sure that Wiesy signs her card and adds correctly"...this is the least I can do for Team Wiesy and Wie Golf...especially since I have been a fan of Wiesy golf since she first came on the scene...back in 2003 I believe...and believe it or not, I have NEVER EVER Missed a Tournament Round of golf that Michelle Wie has played in Hawaii for the LPGA or PGA or USGA Qualifier...folks...that is a ton of Wiesy golf....ahhh...the life of a "wiefan" is NOT as easy as a lot of you thought huh...hmmm...I sometimes think that maybe I should schedule an appointment with a Shrink...just kidding folks...Hawaii does not have too many Nationally recognized athletes that Hawaii folks can gravitate to support and cheer on as role models for our Hawaiian Kids...perhaps Marcus Mariota is one...but Wiesy is DEFINATELY ONE...throughout today, I saw her signing a ton of autographs...good stuff to see
OK...a little DEBATE food for thought...from the first hole, I saw BJ on the Green after everyone hit their shots onto the green...he had his FLOOR LEVEL and notepad and he was measuring the slope and walking all over...I told Cougar that I have seen him do this at every Pro-Am of Wiesy...Cougar said "Hmmm...I didn't know if this is allowed"... anyway...we both surmised that this is probably Legal as NO ONE has ever questioned this for the last 10 or 11 past LPGA events...anyway...I personally don't think this info will help Wiesy...you see the slope in the green, you know it is sloping...anyway...just my opinion
whew...I will end this fan diary before all of you fall asleep or have Strained Ligaments in your eye sockets...this ends my typing exercise for today...I have to get ready for tomorrow
by the way...does anyone know if they Re-Pair for round Two depending on Round one results...I cannot find Round Two Pairings at the tournament site
Aloha everyone...have a great day...by the way...today the winds were just blowing NORMALLY...and it was in the 15-25 mile range...whew...see ya
