I finally got my pc running, thanks to my son........just in time for Michelle's U.S. Open to start......she is paired with Amy Yang and Catriona Matthew in the first 2 rounds........and that looks like a good pairing for her........It might be a little too early for Michelle's scores........I want to take a look at Sunday's round before I decide on her scores........but I think that many fans might think that this course setup is ideal for Michelle........I know I do!!.......

It was fun watching the men, I can't wait to watch the women on Pinehurst 2! With her Thursday afternoon tee time I think it could be an advantage just observing the course and how it's playing. It's a good thing we can edit! Now that I know it's a 72 for the course and not 70! Round 1 - 69 Round 2 - 68 Round 3 - 65 Round 4 - 69 Michelle Wie Wins the 2014 Women's US Open

Hello Wie Nation: Since 2007, Michelle’s track record for the Open hasn’t been too good…But, this is her eighth tournament, and I think Michelle is ready to break out and win her first Major… From all the information I have read and heard, this tournament, except for the one article, (Twice as nice for LPGA at Pinehurst), this tournament is a Par 70... So, until I get a better source of information that this tournament is not a Par 70... Course StatisticsMen’s course Ave. Rd. One…73.2306 Men’s course Ave. Rd. Two…72.8913 Men’s course Ave. Rd. Three…73.8209 Men’s course Ave. Rd. Four…72.4030 Men’s course Ave. Total…73.0762 My translationRd. 1...68...-2...2nd toughest round conditions Rd. 2...67...-3...2nd easiest round conditions Rd. 3...70... E...toughest round conditions Rd. 4...67...-3...easiest round conditions TOT…272...-8 and a break out Major win for Michelle Go michelle go Got to love wie golf bobawiefan

I thought it was 70 too bobawiefan.......but now I knoe Officially that the LPGA will run it as a par 72.........with FIVE par 5s!......yoy, boolaboss and teeshot can change our scores.......if we want to.....I think this news just makes it all that much better for Michelle's chances to WIN this event.......

There are 5 Par 5's! That's even better. The problem was not seeing the actual set up first. I'll just leave my scores alone! Her interview was great and she has Rickie & Keegan's yardage books! EDIT: No, My bad - there are FOUR par-5s.......they added TWO.......and there were only 2 to begin with.......I thought there were 3 to begin........but it was only 2.......that the men played at 70 instead of the usual 72....... ..........Boola Boss

Stats and Stuff: Pinehurst has been a recent fixture for U.S. Women’s OpenLPGA player Natalie Gulbis of the United States hits a shot on the practice ground during the final round of the 114th U.S. Open at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club, Course No. 2 in Pinehurst, North Carolina June 17 2014, Ward ClaytonExcerpt: Evaluating Pinehurst No. 2As the women watched the men finish on Sunday, the United States Golf Association opted to give Pinehurst No. 2 a more thorough watering overnight to prepare for this week’s play. Expect the continued “brown” look most often seen at British Open courses but consistent with the look of Pinehurst golf 50 years ago. The famed Donald Ross course will play to par 70, the first time the women have played a par-70 course since the 2002 tournament at Prairie Dunes in Hutchinson, Kan.Here are a few holes to keep an eye on:Nos. 3 and 13: These short par 4s could be even shorter with the USGA’s recent trend to move up tees and tempt risk-reward shots. For the final round of the men’s event, the markers were moved up approximately 75 yards to create holes of just more than 300 yards. Don’t be surprised to see a similar move for the women.No. 5: This was previously a devilish, long par 4 before the course was restored to its original Ross design. Now a par 5 (and the easiest hole for the men last week), the women will play from approximately 500 yards, giving the longer hitters an opportunity to go for the difficult green in two. No. 6: This long par 3 played as the most difficult hole for the men last week, with a tournament-low 12 birdies. The hole was pushed back to the 240-yard range on occasion for the men and will play approximately 175 yards for the women. Nos. 8 and 16: These play as par 5s for the membership, but are converted into long par 4s for the two championships. No. 8 is a straightaway, 429-yard hole with an elevated green. No. 16 has the only water hazard on the course (even though it is situated just in front of the tee), bends to the left and measures 458 yards, the longest par 4 on the course Link to Article:www.lpga.com/golf/blogs/2014/6/stats-and-stuff-us-open.aspx

There are "only" two par fives! Birdies are already being made on the course.
