Ariya Jutanugarn with 2011 Junior PGA Championship Trophy
Congratulations to Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn on being named 2011 Rolex Junior Player of the Year, Girls Division. The current Polo Golf Rankings #1 junior, 15-year old Ariya won 4 events this year and finished top 2 eight times. Her wins in 2011 were the Junior PGA Championship (by a whopping 10 strokes!), US Girls Junior Championship, Rolex Junior Girls Championship and the Junior Orange Bowl International. And although it has nothing to do with this award, I would like to add that she was the low amateur at the first LPGA Major of the year, the 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship, finishing tied for 25th overall.
