Lotte Round four Fan Report

Hi ya folks…What a day…terrific Tournament…it was a Super Double Bonus Day for me…since Wiesy teed off in the first group on the back nine, when Wiesy got to Hole #1, we were the group following Suzanne’s group….I got to see a lot of the action of the final group….there was a pretty large gallery as you can imagine following Suzanne, Ai and Seo…but here is what was pretty neat, when the HUGE MASS of humanity left the greens with the final group….a MIDDLE SIZE group of Wiesy/Munoz/Kristy took it’s place ….here is a funny moment between the HUGE MASS vs MIDDLE SIZE…the final group was on the tee at #7….Wiesy’s group was in the Fairway at #6….BOTH Gallerys were kinda meshed up together in that cramped space….Final group watcher intently focusing on the teeing off of #7, looking one direction….the Wiesy group watchers focused in the opposite direction….then Kristy McPherson creates MAYHEM….Kristy holes her shot out of the fairway and ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE…the Wiesy crowd goes Nuts…the final group followers and Players trying to see what all of the commotion was about….ahhh Folks, the Wiesy/Munoz/McPherson team scored ONE over the final group…ahh it was fun….Wiesy and Munoz stopped what they were doing and rushed over to Kristy to give her HIGH FIVES….it was like a PARTY ATMOSPHERE

Folks let me tell you about today….outside of that Eagle by Kristy, she was struggling….Wiesy played GREAT….No Bogeys, 4 birdies and about a MILLION near misses for birdies…her tee to green was EXCELLENT….the putts just couldn’t fall….perfect distance control to tap in range mostly…a few Clutch TESTER PAR PUTTS…otherwise a VERY solid Day for Wiesy and her DIEHARD fans…of which I am proudly one

As far as Munoz…this girl can FLAT OUT PLAY…I really like her IRON PLAY…she is deadly….and it seems like she is really good friends with Wiesy and Kristy…this group was chit chatting almost all day….they were having a fun time

Here is a tidbit about the golf tournament….I got there about 1 hour before Wiesy’s tee time and her group was going to be the first of the day….About ½ hour before the first group tees off….Did you know that there is an LPGA OFFICIAL that drives a golf cart in the center of the fairway…looking for Divots that were not put back properly….he also goes to the green and paces off the pin placements to make sure that no one tampered with them overnight….he also rakes the bunkers, if they need it….first time I have ever seen or heard of this…Pretty Impressive against potential night-time prankster

All in all…it was a GOOD tournament for Wiesy and the State of Hawaii….good to have a local girl making the cut and also good for the Travel Industry People and the State’s Economy

Anyway…if Lojo is reading this…I have a question which I am going to post in the rules forum….very interesting, unless I am imagining things

Last but not least…Thank you Cougar for your generous tickets and Parking Pass…and also for your friendship….also…thank you Wiesy for putting on a TERRIFFIC Performance this week….I am NOW a TRUE BELIEVER of the “Table –Top “ putting stance….once the putts start to fall….more people with be JUMPING ON YOUR TABLE-TOP….hmmm….this didn’t sound right….just kidding folks….Last thank you goes out to anyone that had the Patience and fortitude to read through my rambling non-important Dribble of nonsense….lol

Hi ya WieNation....the above post is a duplicate of the one I posted at MYLPGA discussion site....this post I am making now is for all of us in WieNation

first of all....Wiesy had a great tournament since getting a 2nd Chance to play the weekend...her 69 and 68 scores were good...but boy oh boy it could have been Super better....here is just from the top oh my head....but I would say that about 90% of ALL OF THE HOLES were LEGITIMATE Birdie opportunities....folks I am NOT Lying....the kid had a TON of 10-15 footers for birdie....and I DO NOT Blame the Table-Top Putting stance....the kid hit the putts PERFECTLY to where she wanted to....sometimes the breaks at the hole didn't go as she thought...sometimes the speed "just wasn't EXACTLY PERFECT" but Wiesy was Skimming the edges of the holes LIKE CRAZY and/or the putt DIED about one revolution too soon....there is NOTHING wrong with Wiesy's Putting...let me make this point very clear....all of the players that was playing with her had the same Putting regrets....just part of the game

now about Wiesy's Tee to green game....the kid is still VERY DECEPTIVELY LONG....the reason I say "deceptively " is that Wiesy NO LONGER swings the club with all of her might off the tee...she Now does it in a relatively EASY Rythematic style...BUT her golf ball still flies off the clubface....when she does Swing it with a vengence...the ball does go even further...an example is the Hole #17....today, the kid GRIPPED it and RIPPED IT and took on the DOGLEG and all of the sand traps in it...she hit it Perfectly...she cut the corner and she was LONG....her ball landed in the rough, but it was a short shot....about 40 yards to the front edge of the green....She outdrove her playing partners by about 70 or 80 yards

but back to her new easy tempo swing....she tried for the green on ALL four par 5's today....3 of them was "about HOLE HIGH either left or right or slightly past the flag...and one of them she ended up in the greenside sand trap....she had EAGLE chances on 3 of the holes and made Birdie....the one in the trap was a nice up and down to about 8 feet....narrowly missed that putt

so folks....even when she hit 3 wood off the tee at some of these par fives...the kid knows that with the 3wood distance in the fairway...she CAN reach the green in TWO....this length is her BIG ADVANTAGE....Wiesy can SMOKE the golf ball any time she puts her mind to it....easy swing or swing for the fences...it doesn't matter...the Kid has GREAT Length

lemme talk about her Iron Play....THIS is one of Wiesy's sometimes STRONG POINT and sometimes NOT TAKING ADVANTAGE....but in watching Wiesy golf over the years, this is the most enjoyable part to watch....the Kid is SUPER strong in distance with these clubs....her club head speed is so Strong and Fast, that a lot of these roughs are no problem....it is the ball releasing and Not Biting from being in the rough that sometimes hurt her distance control....but I will say that OVER 90% of the time, her distance control with her Irons are EXCELLENT....accuracy direction is sometimes the problem, but NOT the distance control to the target

anyway folks....the above is just my opinion....here is one thing I do know....Wiesy golf is Super fun to follow...Lots of Power, Mistakes, scrambles, missed putts, made putts....super entertaining to watch and experience...NOTHING is BORING...perhaps it is because NO ONE knows what to expect...one thing for certain....the Kid a a TON of different shots in her bag...and she is NOT afraid to use them....she hits Fades, Draws, Knock down shots, HIGH Lofting shots....it doesn't matter...all of these shots are in her arsenal....

so if you should ever hear or read about Wiesy is a "has-been" or "cannot play" or "Washed UP"...I say BALONEY....you gotta see the kid play....she is a TERRIFFIC Player....and I think her best years are going to come and I mean pretty soon too....just watching her play this week has convinced me that pretty soon we shall see the pieces fall into place....just watching her give herself Oddles and oddles of MAKEABLE Birdie opportunities tell me that the Kid is very close to making her BIG SPLASH on the leaderboards....folks!! I am NOT LYING...Wiesy is playing some pretty terriffic golf....perhaps INSTANT High expectations has been the reasoning of nay-sayers....but for those of us that Believe in Wiesy Golf...we all knew that the Kid had the talent...what we don't know is when it will all come together....my opinion is that we are closer than most people think

anyway...the above is just my opinion...have a great evening folks...Aloha....this week has been FUN watching Wiesy golf....see ya!!

Hey wiefan, thanks for that exciting report and now I'm verrrrrry excited for the next tournament. On tv all we saw was her putt for birdie at her last hole - and while all that was going on as you described! Reading your report was like re-living her round! Too bad we never saw it! well, pretty soon we're going to be seeing a lot more of Michelle Wie!
Wow what a report! TEXAS here we come! Having been to her tournaments it's an exciting day cause you never know what you're going to get! The seventh hole sounded like it was made for TV!!!!!

Thanks for the report Wiefan! Hopefully Michelle continues her good play in Texas. Glad there is not a week off.

BTW what a battle btw Suzann and Lizette. Felt bad for Lizette, but the way she's playing she'll have more opportunities to try to win.
