Hi ya folks MYLPGA and Michelle Wie Central…whew…what a day…a roller coaster ride for sure….this report will NOT be long winded….Yeah!! CLAP CLAP CLAP….for the MYLPGA readers, I have posted this in the Tournament Forum because NOT EVERYTHING is Wiesy Related…I am NOT a TUNNEL VISION ONLY focus on one player type…lol…ahhh maybe a little…
Anyway….I arrived at the course and decided to walk to the 9th hole ( I was parked close to there because of Cougar’s Generous Parking Permit) since I was EARLY for Wiesy/Natalie/Sandra tee time…as soon as I got to the 9th Fairway…I checked to see what players were approaching….WHIZZZ a ball almost hit my head….whew!!!...even a SKINNY 90 lb weakling like myself provide a bullseye for errant shots…anyway…the shooter was Dewi Claire Schreefel from the Netherlands….anyway…her ball landed in JAIL…there was a BIG coconut tree BLOCKING her vision to the Flag …there were trees Left and right of the Big Coconut tree….I decided to see just how good these players are…Dewi had a small opening, but the only thing you saw was a DEADLY Greenside Sand trap…so she had to hit her shot Between the trees and yet be short enough to NOT get into the Bunker….PRESTO…EASY as PIE…Dewi hits a PERFECT shot….ahhh these girls are GOOD…However Dewi bogeyed that hole with a missed Par putt
Anyway…I watched Wiesy at the putting green using her “Table –Top” stance…her putting wasn’t too shabby…so I had NEWLY instilled confidence that this was going to be a PRETTY GOOD DAY FOR THE KID…
I had a lot of time yet so I decided to eat my “ILLEGAL SNEAKING IN LUNCH at the fairway of Hole #1…while eating, I saw a VERY LUCKY LUCKY INCIDENT…but before I tell you about it…let me tell you…Daniela Lacobelli is a VERY LONG Hitter….she hit her drive further than anyone I had seen for TWO days…and her Long drive BOUNCED in the rough a few times to minus some of her distance….but here is where she got Lucky….her ball rolled out of the rough and on to the cart path….which was Sloping back towards the tee….the ball kept on rolling backwards and the Cart path was kinda long…to MY surprise….her ball made a sudden stop from it’s rolling…it seems that the cartpath had a LARGE CRACK and her ball stopped inbetween the crack on a DOWNWARD PATH…if it missed this crack she would have lost about 30 more yards distance…pretty amazing huh…and even with all of this lost distance, she was still about 20 yards ahead of her playing partners…Daniela Parred this hole
Ok…on to the Wiesy/Natalie/Sandra report…personally with all of the TV coverages ( I didn’t see the coverages yet )…I would suspect that all of you would probably know more than me about Fairways, Girs, Putts…so I won’t bore all of you with that stuff…let me give you the GALLERY STUFF….
NATALIE was SUPER TERRIFFIC….she made come great putts and great recovery shots and the gallery was BUZZING with excitement…even Sandra and Wiesy was getting “Jacked Up”…Wiesy hit some “Noisemaking Gallery Buzz with a lot of KEY CLUTCH SHOTS and PUTTS….Sandra chipped in for an Eagle and she made a super LONG LOUD LOUD par saving putt on #18….all in all, it was a GREAT group to follow…especially on the 17th hole…Wiesy/Natalie/Sandra had great 2nd shots…and they all Birdied that hole…so that alone got the Gallery SKY HIGH with excitement
Anyway folks….the weather was PICTURE PERFECT today as well as yesterday…so why the heck were they playing “Lift Clean and place”….the fairway looked Great…it didn’t rain for the last two days…perhaps one of you out there can explain this….Cougar and I didn’t see any reason for this….but I did get these “ maybe correct “ explaination….my niece’s Husband said he asked one of the rules officials and the rules official said that it was NOT because of damp fairways, but it was because of the “WORM HOLES” in the fairway…as you know worms dig their way into the ground and pushes up wet dirt….I also asked BJ Wie “ Why are they playing Lift Clean and Place….he said “Probably because of the plentiful Divots that sometimes do not get replaced correctly”….hmmmmm….whadda ya think folks….Worm Holes or Divots
Anyway…I am kinda excited about Wiesy’s play…she made a few forced errors, but all in all, she played pretty darn good and steady….folks, here is my personal opinion about Wiesy…I will say that she is the BEST LPGA Player to get out of trouble when she is in the rough and nasty stuff….I have seen her get her GIR from some very difficult predicaments…and folks, these “Getting out of jail” isn’t just to get ANYWHERE on the green….Wiesy usually gets herself out of trouble and now face a “POSSIBLE” birdie chances….in fact, I am more relaxed with Wiesy hitting “Out of trouble 2nd shots” than I am seeing her hit her drives from the tee box….anyway….this is just my opinion after watching Wiesy play Live golf for Years….a Rational line of thought is that Wiesy hits so so many wayward tee shots, that she has a “LOT OF PRACTICE”…lol
Anyway folks I have an early morning start tomorrow…so this ends my fan report…have a good day tomorrow folks..I sure hope Wiesy has one also…I KNOW I WILL
