Hi Ya Folks…both MYLPGA and Michelle Wie Central discussion sites….ok….here is what transpired today….I Went to watch Wiesy at the Pro-Am and also to meet “Cougar”…when I got to the Course….I was the 4th spectator Car there….sort of tells you about my anxiousness huh….anyway…I got there with my “illegal Pretzils and Soda and breakfast” ….hmmm…the Tournament needs to watch out for Rule Breakers like me…lol…anyway…I went straight to the driving range to Watch Wiesy practice…terrific Contact of the ball, but NOT ALL TOTALLY SUPER STRAIGHT with her Driver and 3-wood…but probably good enough to find the fairways on her slight misses….however, her Irons were DEADLY LASER LIKE….no no no, I didn’t see her “table-top” putting practice…moving onwards…they were playing a “Scramble Format”….using the best shot from either Wiesy or her Amateur partners….one of her partners was pretty good, but the other three was “Beware at your own risk”…lol…I watched 17 holes of her Pro-Am….most of the time they used Wiesy’s shot, but a few times the kid was Erattic….she has to hit more drives in the fairway and she needs to adjust her putting distance control….I figure that once the tournament starts, her distance control should be better…especially with MORE concentration on the task at hand….here is what I noticed…during the Pro-Am…Wiesy and the other LPGA Players are getting in their Practice and also being Hosts to their Amatuer Team….so I cut Wiesy some slack on the Putting Green….to prove my point…Cougar and I both saw InBee miss an 8 footer THREE times from the same spot….and folks, we all know that InBee CAN PUTT
Anyway…tomorrow, I suspect that Wiesy will put EXTRA emphasis on her concentration and she should do well
Now about my adventure….today I got to meet Moriya Jutanugarn’s mom….SUPER nice lady…we did one of them “Say a Word followed by HAND signals”…I gave her a Bag of Pretzels and “chit chatted using Hand Signals and a few English Words”….she is a smart lady….when I told her about Moriya and Ariya coming in 1st and 2nd in this tournament…she just gave me a Big Motherly Hope type of smile and giggle….anyway…I also had to SCOLD Moriya’s mom on hole # 4…we were by the green and Moriya was about to hit her tee shot on this Par 3….her mother was looking at the players on Hole #2…I yelled at her to “WHAT ARE YOU DOING….WATCH YOUR DAUGHTER HIT”…she turned and giggled in FUN embarrassment….Moriya hit her shot to about 3 feet….best iron shot I saw all day….ahhh I just love meeting Parents of players…some are so relaxed in their demeanor…and some are like professional “HELICOPTERs” ….I put the Wie’s in this category….Bo and BJ “hoover “ around SUPER BIG TIME…especially during this Pro-Am sort of like Practice round….I am beginning to think that maybe perhaps this is a slight too much…I have seen BJ and Bo during tournament Play and they are pretty good at giving Wiesy her SPACE ( probably because of tournament rules )….but during these practice type sessions, they are like Magnets….ahhh “to each his own” I guess
when I met Cougar after Wiesy’s first nine holes, we walked and chitchatted….FOLKS, let me tell you something….Cougar is the MAN!!!...he gave me tickets for ALL four days and also a VIP Parking Pass….with this cost savings, I can BUY about 14 Ice Cream Floats at Sam’s Club or about 18 Packs of wiefan’s hand rolled cigarettes….whew I am stoked….back to this long winded story….Cougar is super Knowledgeable….I introduced Cougar to Mrs Jutanugarn, and immediately Cougar recognized Moriya’s caddy….he knew the caddy’s name and where he was from…Moriya’s mom explained that this caddy is for this tournament Only….also while we were walking, a group was going on the green and the LPGA Player Hee Young Park stopped and WAVED to Cougar….folks, the LPGA Players love the man and they recognize his volunteer efforts….I was in AWE…I was STAR-STRUCKED….I was tempted to get Cougar’s Autograph…if only I had one of “HIS” blank checks…just kidding folks
ahhh folks….there is nothing like seeing LPGA Golf LIVE….the Ambiance is fantastic….Wiesy is in FUN Playful Spirits….Half Blond colored pony tail…nifty looking attire….the kid looked Relaxed….her Irons are DIALED in….now we shall just have to wait and see tomorrow….anyway…all of you have a great evening….Aloha and see ya
