Hi ya folks....remember when I said that Wiesy should gain some in the Rolex because she made the cut at the Nabisco Major tournament....well folks, SCRATCH what I said....Wiesy dropped a little in the rankings....I just cannot logically figure out WHY....here is what I was thinking....144 players, Wiesy beats about 100 of those players....surely you would think that she would advance.....hmmm.....the only thing I can figure is that Wiesy lost some points on the 2012 event that dropped off her Rolex scoring....but folks, Wiesy didn't have a GREAT 2012 season anyway
anyway....here is my NEW line of thought concerning the Solheim....MEG Mallon is going to have to make some tough controversiaL CHOICES FOR THE Captain's Pick....probably TWO choices between, Pillar, Futcher, Castrale, Wiesy, Vicky, Morgan, Johnson....one of these players should get the last Rolex Ranking spot....then the controversy should start heating up....especially if Meg selects Wiesy....hmmmm....and personally, I think that Meg WILL select Wiesy, if she doesn't already make it on Merit....the controversy will be because player's overlooked could be HIGHER in the Rolex than Wiesy and even Higher in the Solheim Points....anyway....this is just my opinion....should Wiesy NOT make the Solheim Team....then all she has to blame is her own Poor play and/or the other players playing better
I say that Salas has virtually LOCKED Up a slot on the team...along with Korda.....that is 8th and 9th
anyway....have a great day folks....in TWO weeks I get to see Wiesy LIVE....whew....I sure hope she makes the CUT

Not entirely sure how the Rolex rankings work - don't you have to finish top 20 to score ??
She's just suffering a gradual erosion over time of what few points she scored last season - needs to score some shiny fresh new ones !
Solheim selection could be really interesting - there will be huge commercial pressure on Meg to select her of course. On the other hand, Meg desperately wants to win too - and if Michelle is hitting it sideways off the tee and not puttting great she's not exactly going to be the ideal partner...watch this space !

Hi everyone. I am new to the board but have enjoyed it as a visitor for awhile now.
There is a good explanation of the rolex rankings on wikipedia, essentially though the calculation covers a rolling 104 week period. Points awarded are more heavily weighted toward recent performances. Wiesy finished 41st at Kraft but her 6th place finish 2 years ago rolled off, thus the loss of points and standings. Assuming she makes the cut in Hawaii she will pick up points as she missed the cut in the Avenet 2 years ago.

Assuming she makes the cut in Hawaii she will pick up points as she missed the cut in the Avenet 2 years ago. Last week she had 47 tournaments and her accumulated point total was 61.06. This current week she has 48 tournaments and an accumulated point total of 62.99. So she did pick up points, but somehow she had an additional tournament within the two years. She still would have lost one spot in rankings rather than the two she did if the tournament count was the same. |

OK, wiefan.....since YOU are our eyes and ears in Hawaii.........why would you hope she makes the cut?........the CUT should be guaranteed for Wiesy........is not the Ko Olina golf course.........the course Michelle practiced on EVERY day while she was in high school and maybe even before that.........isn't the same course where she was paired with Morgan in the final round......and finished that LPGA tournament T-3.........just one stroke behind the two girls who were in a playoff for the WIN?...........so Michelle should know this course like the back of her hand..........and have a GREAT chance of winning it?........

Hi ya Boola....the reason I said I hoped that Wiesy would make the cut is that last year was a BUMMER...Wiesy MISSED the Cut...in fact, on Day TWO, the Kid hit TWO OB's on her 10th hole....my car was parked in the Volunteer's Parking...and her ball landed in the area....pretty close to MY CAR...LOL....and the SCARY part is that her THIRD TEE SHOT on that Hole "ALMOST" went OB AGAIN...she was only a few FEET from the stakes....this KILLED her chances on making the CUT....I had Tickets for FOUR days....needless to say, the enthusiasiam was gone on the weekend
anyway....this year, I am going to get the FOUR day pass again....come on Wiesy...let's play the weekend....considering her performance at the Kraft...I am pretty sure that Wiesy SHOULD and WILL make the cut...she needs a top 20 finish for Solheim Points and Rolex Ranking BOOST
