The final par-5 on the Palmer course demands a straight tee shot, with desert areas on both sides of the fairway. Depending on the pin placement, you must decide which side of the split fairway you will hit your second shot into which will allow easy access to this large contoured green. A well-played third shot may provide a chance at a birdie on this scenic par 5.

The short, par-4 16th requires accuracy off of the tee which will set up a short-iron to this demanding green. Several greenside bunkers guard this green and a severe slant from back to front makes a birdie putt difficult to attain.

Perhaps the most difficult hole on the Palmer course is the par-4, 17th. If your tee shot manages to avoid the desert areas, you are left with a long approach and must negotiate the lake on the right side of the green. A challenging green will make you work for your par.

Well hardly an ideal start, but no need for panic. The cut is going to -2, so a 68 will get her through. If Kris Tamulis can do it, so can Michelle ! Go Wiesy !

Nice going in leading our mini scoring contest after the first round Davidy48........Michelle's main problem was her driving accuracy......3 of 14 is NOT good........her 14 of 18 GIRs is good, but it lead to her 33 puts........and not many good birdie chances........her driving distance of 283.00 shows she was using her driver a lot.........but not hitting many FWs.........we might get a chance to SEE her play tomorrow.........as she tees off late.......
