MICHELLE WIE, Rolex Rankings No. 40
Q. Conditions were a little bit different today than they have been the first two days. Did that affect the way you played at all?
MICHELLE WIE: It was tough out there, for sure. It was playing tough, and I left a couple of putts and left a couple of shots out there.
Granted, it was playing really tough out there, but a little disappointed with my play today, but the thing is it's still the U. S. Open. Na Yeon had a really awesome score today and we'll see what happens tomorrow
Q. Saw your course record lasted for all of the day. Knowing how hard it was for you to post a 66, what does that say about a 65 when the pins were a little tougher today?
MICHELLE WIE: I mean it was tough out there. It was pretty crazy, that 65 today. Good for her. But I think tomorrow we'll see what happens.
Q. In reality does she need to back up because it's unlikely to see another 65 or 66?
MICHELLE WIE: You never know what happens. It was playing tough today, especially on the front nine.
Q. How was the wind a factor in your game today?
MICHELLE WIE: It was different because the winds were different. The par‑3s played a lot differently. Every hole played differently, but I felt I did a pretty good job of managing that. Like I said, I hit a couple of loose shots and I felt like my putts should have gone in that didn't go. So hopefully I'll get them back tomorrow
Q. What's your mindset going into tomorrow being so far back?
MICHELLE WIE: Obviously a low score is good. You have to look for that. But it's still Blackwolf Run and shooting 65 is difficult, so I'm going to go out there and play the best score I can.
Par is a good score, but obviously being so far back right now you have to make some birdies out there tomorrow.
Q. Can you talk about being in contention and the crowds and everything and how you enjoyed that in '05 and '06? What were the crowds like today?
MICHELLE WIE: It was great. The crowds were awesome today. It was a lot of fun playing with Suzann in the final group. It was a lot of fun being in contention. I'm still not out of it. Don't count me out just yet.
It's exciting. It's very exciting that I have the opportunity and I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. Thank you.

I'm glad she's thinking positively, but ....realistically...she is out of it. 10 strokes back of NYC.

True....NYC could fall back tomorrow, but a 10 stroke difference? Unlikely. There are others who have fewer strokes to make up too.

But....I hope she finishes with a good score and gets in the top 10 or so. Great improvment over recent tourneys and something to build on for the Evian and WBO, etc.

She has to keep fighting and at least stay in the top 20. She's shown what she can do and there's less pressure on her now she's no longer in the lead - maybe that was too much for her. I expect a solid round and a top 10 finish.

Hi ya folks....ya know what...actually Wiesy shot better than the "scoring average of the day"....I believe that I heard the announcer say that the scoring average was about 7 over par....anyway....so ALL is not loss....especially when you look at how Wiesy's 2012 season is so far...she is playing pretty darn BETTER than any of her previous starts....her scores are better or right about those players ranked in the top eschelon of the LPGA...so I say...GOOD FOR HER

anyway....here's what I am hoping for tomorrow...for Wiesy to shoot a good decent score and get herself into the TOP 10....this is important because all players in the top 10 gets EXEMPT into NEXT years US open....with Wiesy's record so far this year being kinda lousy....being exempt for 2013 could be very important

ok Wiesy....let's rock and roll tomorrow....if you cannot catch NYC....catching the 2nd place in this event is VERY DOABLE....let's get some birdies EARLY and then see what happens....and for Heaven's Sake....let's GET a BIRDIE or EAGLE on hole #2....everyone and their grandmother is taking advantage of this hole EXCEPT you...on Saturday, you had a 302 yard drive with your fairway hit and came away with a Bogey....come on kid, let's KILL this hole

anyway...have a good day folks...actually Wiesy is playing with GREAT composure and patience....GOOD sign for Sunday....let's go Wiesy....Go Wiesy go....wienation is behind you 100%...let's move up the leaderboard...under par round should get you into the top 10 at least...match your 66 and I think you could be looking at at least 2nd or 3rd....maybe higher if NYC comes back to the field....personally, I do NOT mind NYC winning this event....Saturday's 65 by NYC was simply GREAT....everyone was struggling and NYC was putting on a clinic...amazing round by NYC on a VERY TOUGH DAY....anyway...aloha and see ya all....again...GREAT Job Bobawiefan
