Hi ya folks….ahhh…another beautiful day has ended…ok…let me get started on today’s Fan Diary…there is so so so much I wanna tell…ok…Here goes

I got to the course about 2 ½ hours before Wiesy’s start…I first went to see Cougar ( who was the 4th hole CHIEF )…yep…good ol’ Cougar is a very important piece in the LPGA Tournament…he is my Idol…especially since he saved me $5 with his giving me the Volunteer Parking Pass ( ** boy oh boy do I have a story to tell all of you about this Volunteer Parking area…but I will tell all of you later in this report

Next I went to see Lexi’s Mom….I gave her a couple bags of Pretzels and also a Shell Lei both for her to wear and for her to give to Lexi…ahhh the Aloha Spirit is alive and well…she and her son (?) Matt was very happy and appreciative

Next came my main Mission…I wanted to see Wiesy on the Putting green…folks…hold onto your hats for this next comment of mine…WIESY is a great Putter…on the practice putting green, the kid was SOLID….her speed and stroke was EXCELLENT…from about 8 feet or so…she was DEADLY….why people criticize her putting is Beyond me…so what if I was one of the culprits in criticizing…gulp…my bad,… For real folks, wiesy was really putting Great….but this was Practice only…but I was feeling full of confidence about today’s round

I decided to follow Mr3putt’s advise and my game plan was set…I was going to stick around and watch every single Wiesy putt in Round Two instead of “digging out” to the next hole fairway….yep…Today I had a mission, especially after watching Wiesy’s terrific practice putting…ok…on to the holes

Started on Hole #10…Terriffic and Long center cut drive by Wiesy…about 20 yards past Lexi…2nd shot of Wiesy to about 12 feet of the pin…beautiful Putt, BUT about 3 inches short…I was satisfied

Hole #11…Wiesy’s drive Bounced out of the fairway sand bunker ….2nd shot to about 35 feet….Folks, let me summarize wiesy’s putting for round 2….in round Two, Wiesy hit only 3 bad putts…but Two of them came on this 11th hole…from 35 feet, the kid left it tooo short and had a 7 footer left…she then missed left….but I was still confident that Wiesy was going to have a good day

Then came hole 12….yikes…Jessica Korda hit this green and both Lexi and Wiesy FLEW this green…Wiesy’s first chip was not too good looking…her second chip wasn’t anymore Prettier…wiesy was left with a FAST 12 footer downhill…whew, I was starting to get nervous….but lo and behold….Remember when I said Wiesy was putting great…well Presto…a beautiful putt right in the heart of the cup….I was PUMPED and AMPED

Hole #13…Wiesy’s drive went about 265…center cut….nice lay up 2nd shot…3rd shot hit the green but back spinned off the green…chip to about 15 feet…Speedy downhill Putt had EYES as it headed to the center of the cup…BUT…died right at the edge…I was blowing indescretely to no avail…super nice read and putt…I was still a little confident despite seeing THREE BOGEYS IN A ROW…lol

Hole 14…missed fairway to the right fairway sand bunker…chipped out but had a LONG 3rd shot…3rd shot to about 30 feet from the pin…just one foot less and it would have caught the Perfect Backstop slope to the flag…excellent 3rd shot nonetheless

Hole #15…the kid had an adventure…first off…I was in the Safe roadside of the fairway…did I say SAFE…not according to Wiesy…the Kid almost NAILED me in the head…she missed me by about 10 feet and her ball was about to Bounce onto the road for an OB….but, the Wie Gods made Wiesy’s ball hit the volunteers golf cart and Wiesy’s ball was playable…the kid hit her shot to about 20 feet and made her “ROUTINE” par

Hole #16…Wiesy hits a terrific shot to about 8 feet….remember I mentioned that the Kid was putting great on the range…well lo and behold…the Kid sinks her Birdie…I was STOKED!!!

Hole #17…Wiesy really cranked her drive…into the 1st cut of rough, but only about 60 yards from the flag…a monster drive…2nd shot to about 15 feet…and then another MAGNIFICENT Putt,,,perfect speed and stroke

Hole #18…I was starting to feel really good about Wiesy’s momentum…then she hits her BEST drive of the day on #18…about one foot inside the fairway, right at the Water’s edge..you couldn’t walk out and place it any better…terrific shot….2nd shot to about 20 feet….just missed the putt slightly

I was pumped…I was writing my fan diary notes as I ran to her next hole…which would be Hole #1

Talk about seeing your favorite Balloon Burst or watching your last dime fall into the gutter…or taking a shower and someone flushes the toilet and the instant hot water gives you 2nd degree burns….well folks…Hole #1 was just like “Harold Camping’s end of the world”

Hole #1…Wiesy hits her first shot “Out of Bounds”…Next shot goes to the same place…Out of Bounds….Yikes…I felt sick to my stomach…folks remember when I said I would tell you a story about the Parking Pass from Cougar….Folks…Wiesy was trying to hit “MY CAR”…two of her “out of bound balls”…ended up only about 15 feet from where my car was parked….anyway…I was now totally drained emotionally…I put away my fan Diary notepad and pen…I started to check out how emotionally draining it was on Wiesy…here is what I saw….the Kid Knew the damage, but she was just toughening herself up and started to refocus….she knew what the writing on the wall indicated, but to Wiesy’s credit, she did not do a John Daly…the kid gathered herself up and went back to business….she birdied two more holes before bogeying her last hole…

Folks…sometimes when you are down, it is very easy to just “Pack it in”…but it is the very special players that can “Bite the bullet and continue to play the game as it is intended to be played”….Folks…this is what Wie Golf is all about…Wiesy did NOT quit after the disaster on Hole #1…she just regrouped and played very well for the rest of the round…Yep…I am a fan of Wiesy Golf because of moments like this…you gotta take the good with the bad…Wiesy showed me a lot of Class and commitment today….she missed the cut, but I Know that they will be better days ahead….

Anyway….this concluded today’s Fan Diary report…all in all, it was a very good tournament….Round one = Wiesy couldn’t Putt for beans but her ball striking was GREAT…Round Two = Wiesy’s putting was GREAT but a few of her ball striking cost her dearly….ahhhh Golf…wouldn’t it be nice if all facets in the golf game would BLEND together nicely….but then this is the beauty of golf…fix one thing and something else goes haywire…fix that and then something else turns up….it is amazing that Insurance Companies do not raise the life insurance premiums on golfers…Ulcers and rising blood pressure and Hari-Kari tendencies are all part of what golfers can potentially go through…lol

Anyway…all of you have a great weekend…this concludes my typing lesson for today…I am still a very proud member of WieNation….go Wiesy go!!!

Thanks so much Wiefan for the report! Ah the Golf God had other plans for her yesterday but you are right Wiesy gave it back as good as she could after the hole #1. Between your report and what we saw on tv Michelle is making progress on her putting.
Judy Rankin said Michelle should just take three clubs, and go play golf without any helpers tagging along!
Get her feel back! I don't think Judy has given up on Michelle and we shouldn't either.
Hawaii is the place for Michelle to renew her spirit and her golf game. Then it's on to the Bear Club!

Only two days??? ;D ;D ;D but at the same time.

I’m still proud of Michelle…After 3 bogey’s, she battled back with 2 birdies..
After a quad triple bogey, she battled back with 2 birdies…

I watch the third round and this is what Judy Rankin had to say about Michelle…
Judy talked to Michelle after the second round.
Michelle told Judy that she was having pain in her left wrist and the pain was shooting up her forearm to her elbow.
Michelle said she had been taking advil…
The problem started after the Kraft Tournament…
Judy told Michelle not to overwork the wrist and give it a chance to heal…
Michelle said she would be having it check out while in Hawaii…
Did any body else see and hear this during the third round?
Anyway…

Thank you again for your live report…I know it takes time and affect to keep track of what’s going on at a Wie tournament …especially when you are trying to enjoy the moment..

"I ran into her late yesterday afternoon and she's been having some trouble with her left wrist and problem with it going up her forearm. She's been seeing a physical therapist here. She's never had a problem in the past. It just started before she came over here, and um, we talked a little bit at length about whether she should be battling through it or not, cause she was just in unfamiliar territory, and she is one who fights through every round she plays, you know, but she had a handful od Advil and said she couldn't even practice before her round yesterday at 74, and she asked me and I just certainly encourage her, um, not to let this become an ongoing issue, and she was at a good time to let it rest."

This from a fan named Sean who watched Michelle play this week, interesting account to say the least.

I attended the event yesterday, and followed her threesome- it was Michelle, Lexi , and Korda.....I was suprised that this grouping had the most spectators of all the groups (including Yani's).
Mostly because the locals came out to see Michelle, I suppose they wanted to support her. Unfortunatley she was playing so well, it was really disappointing for the crowd. (what an experience).

This was my first LPGA event ever attended. I actually attended to see my favorite player I.K.Kim, but Michelle Wie's 3some was right in front on the next hole, so I was able to watch both sets of ladies for their entire 18 hole......IK Kim was paired with Paula Creamer and Stacey whatshername.

While following Michelle's group, I followed closely along Michelle's father and mother, although they spoke mostly korean to each other alot of the remarks I could'nt understand. But, I often got close to them when they would talk to Michelle between holes.....her dad is very intense-demanding, and shouts aloud alot when they around on the putting green, his presence they must be overwhelming for MIchelle

......As to her mom, she is the one that goes to Michelle and speaks to her as they walk between holes, and although I could hear much of that, I could tell that she
was really trying to relax her emotionally...It was an amzing show to watch the family of michelle intertwining during the event........it really seems her father overshadows her-I now see what everyone talks about. The father and mother are all over her like stink on shtttt. Very, um, interesting.




On a side note, Michelle is really tall and skinny, i knew that already, butI was quite suprised she seemed taller than me and I'm 6'....!
Actually I was suprised how many of the ladies were so (tall).....! These girls are really, really tall, you dont see it on TV.

Anyways, an absolutely amazing day watching pro golfers....wish I would'a stayed another day.

Lexi Thompson was the most spectaular to watch, I was planning spending most of my time with Paula, IK KIM, Lewis.....but Lexi took the cake.

I'd like to post more later about the event and Michelle, if you have any questions, maybe I could chime in.....

Hi ya chargepad....I am wondering if your poster actually heard BJ or Bo...the reason I am saying this is that I was walking in the same Pattern as Bo...she waits in the fairway right in the same vacinity as me to see Wiesy's ball land from her drives...at the green, I see BJ and Bo ALL OF THE TIME...NOT ONCE did I ever hear them say a "single Word in KOREAN" to Wiesy....Bo wie does yell "YES" when Wiesy sinks a putt...but that is the ENTIRE EXTENT of any conversation....I have watch BJ and BO at every single event that Wiesy has played in Hawaii and I can personally say that despite BJ and BO being kinda like heliocopter type parents on the Driving range and Putting green...once the tournament starts...I have never seen anything like what your poster said BJ and Bo did

awhile back there was a lot of flack given to some of the parents of OTHER Korean Players who were accused of "Sideline coaching" in the Korean Language...this is ILLEGAL...only the Caddy can give the player advise once the tournament starts

another reason I kinda doubt what your other poster said is that he said " so I was able to watch both sets of ladies for their entire 18 hole.".....there is absolutely NO WAY you can watch BOTH groups for 18 holes...you either watch ONE group COMPLETELY and get lucky on a few short holes to catch "Some action" of the second group...and the action that you catch with the 2nd group is very Limited and far away ( if you want to be in Position to watch the first group...for example...if your poster was in the fairway watching Wiesy's group, he would have missed Inky's group on the green

if inky's group was in the fairway and wiesy's group was on the green...as soon as Wiesy's group finishes up...no way could your poster see Inky's group on the green and Wiesy's group teeing off....a lot of the Next tee box is not close to the previous greens...

here is a fact about what I have noticed about BJ and Bo...they HARDLY ever talk to each other at all....BJ watches at the tee box for Wiesy to tee off while Bo is already next to me in the fairway....at the putting green...BJ is positioned so that he can more or less see how her putt will break...while Bo and MYSELF are situated so that we can inconspicously sneak away Right after Michelle putts...a lot of times, Bo and I sneak away if Wiesy has a short tap in and has not putted out

in the fairway...Bo Wie cannot talk to her daughter to give words of encouragement because Bo Wie is NOT there...she is along side me at the spot of wiesy's next shot

let me ask any of you...with all of the INTENSE SCRUTINY and Anti-Wiesy.BJ/Bo sentiment going around...do you honestly think that BJ and Bo are foolish enough to add fuel to the fire...they already KNOW that the LPGA talked about "speaking Korean to their Kids while they are playing"....

also...take a good look at when the TV camera scans the crowd and you see Wiesy's parents...almost every single time they are NEVER TOGETHER....on the driving range and putting green...YES...BJ and Bo are together...but once the tournament starts...they each have their own game plan

the pix that was posted was at the driving range...

anyway...you can believe whoever you wish...but I will say this..I have NEVER seen BJ or Bo talk to Wiesy during a tournament round...and I see the both of them ALL day long during Wiesy's tournament

anyway...that is all I have to say...I really hate it when someone says things about Wiesy and her family that I personally do not see at all...and especially when Logistically they say stuff that isn't possible....Bo wie and I are joined together at the hip racing to Wiesy's Next shot in the fairway and also on the Green to make our FAST Exit...I think if BJ was screaming at his daughter on the tee box or Putting green, I am SURE it would make Golf Channel TV news....in Private, perhaps he does, but not when the whole world is watching...think of the logic...when have any of you ever read anything about BJ or Bo YELLING at Wiesy...never in Public...they know better than that

Ok people and Wiesy fans Wiefan is corrct about Wie's parents and their behavior during a tournament. I've been to Wiesy tournaments and followed Bo just like Wiefan said.

That is exactly the way they go around the 18 holes. Bo is farther down watching as Michelle tees off as Wiefan said and checks Michelle's yardage, then we're off to the green. I knew who Bo was and soon figured out this was the way to follow Michelle around the golf course because she was the reason I came to the tournament in the first place. That is the way you follow someone around the golf course in my opinion and the way I did.

Once the balls are struck those girl walk fast so you need a head start to find a place to view the putting. There are always people waiting around the green when you get there and you can't always get close because Wiesy's gallery is always big, depending on the lay of the land you might wish for a tree!

It's hard to explain how much fun it is following Wiesy on the golf course because as Wiefan has said many times she is fun to watch, you never know what will happen, and even when things are not going her way Wiesy just makes golf so exciting that watching on tv will never satisfy you. You have to be there folks!

Wiefan, was that you hollaring Go Baby at Michelle on the back nine in the second round??!! It got a big smile out of her! LOL!!!

I, too, have followed Wie and walked with Bo and observed BJ during numerous rounds, and at different venues. It's exactly how wiefan described. Exactly!

I have watched Michelle four times during the last two yeras at the KIA and Nabisco tournaments, and have seen Michelle's parent many times, they never talk to her during a round ever, whomever reported this is an outright liar.

On a different topic the daily report from Wiefan was great, he manage to provide more information in his posts than all golf reporter together. I agree with him on his evaluation of Michelles's game, she really had only three bad hole sin Hawaii, to me simply an indication of not enough playing time, her new putting stroke, first seen at the Kraft, is much better and she is making reasonable progress in that department.

Hi ya folks...so there you have it...a lot of people follow Wiesy and concur about how BJ and Bo follow a Wiesy tournament

anyway..teeshot...that was NOT me screaming encouragement outloud...it was an exuberant short LOCAL guy that was having a blast....he did it TWICE...at hole #16 and Hole #17....personally, I think that might have "PUMPED up the kid....on #18 her drive was absolutely Picture Perfect...just long enough NOT to go into the water in front and also the rough in front of the water...you are absolutely correct...watching Wiesy golf is TRULY fun live.....you get to see a ton of GREAT shots and then a few "sprinkles" of wild shots....but this happens to all of the golfers, but Wiesy is like Yani....they are Both STRONG and terriffic club head acceleration...so a lot of times they can get out of trouble easier than the players that just "sweep at the ball"....Wiesy, Yani and the other STRONG players "go and DIG their balls out of the rough"...this prevents the clubhead from getting tangled in the snarly grass....fun to watch

I just gave you major props on another thread here. You are a diehard Wiemaniac, that's for sure.

However, comparing Yani to Michelle at this point doesn't make much sense. Wiesy is in a LOT more trouble these days than Tseng. About the only thing they have in common now is length - and even that's becoming an issue.

Keep it in the fairways, Wiefan. Comparing Michelle to Yani - you're O.B. my friend! LOL
