Putting, putting, putting.........This was Michelle's downfall as she shot a 5-over 77 in the first round.........she missed MANY short putts..........both for birdie and par........and said in her TV interview after her round........."my putting is just a work in progress"..........let's hope that her WIP will be finished before she starts round 2 at 9:05 PDT tomorrow morning........Now on to our first round results..........bobawiefan.........who does all of the Michelle stats and other info for us.........IS our leader after round one.........here is the first round leaderboard:...........

If - Michelle hadn't missed all those birdies she would have got that 65 I gave her for the first round of the contest! She tweeted that she had a good practice afterwards and is going for a low number today!
I think the long putter just gets in her way. Not free flowing enough, and it sure looked that way to me with those short putts.
Anyone else have an opinion?
She had a good interview after she finished the round - didn't seem beat down at all. Said she might have another putter in her bag!!!

Said she might have another putter in her bag!!! That was really sad how many very, very short putts she missed. Mostly just grazed the edge or even lipped out. It looked to me like the putter was actually too short for someone of her height. I have seen others use the belly putter and it didn't seem they needed to crouch down so much to have it touch the belly. Maybe she's just too skinny and needs the pot belly that many of the players that we see using that belly putter have ;D ;D  . |

Hello Wie Nation:  Hello BoolaBoss: I come close...I was leading after the first round....and I was in the process of writing my acceptance speech...it was my best performance in a boolaboss's contest... In my eyes I came close... ;D ;D ;D and I quote from Michelle's tweet: "Very dissapointing week...feeling very sad  BUT tmr is a new day and next week is a new week!!"
